I'm working with John Gonzalez on the GM Announcement of his talk on the Internet Archive. Below is his first draft of what he'd cover. It's not a detailed outline, but an overview of the talk. I'll be working on it Tuesday or Wednesday and plan to run what I do by him. Let me know if there is anything we want him to add in the description, etc. Babette

No problem. Can I send some proposed copy, and then you let me know of we still need to talk on Wednesday morning?
I was thinking something along the lines of: Introduction to the Internet Archive! Please join us to find out more about the Internet Archive. We scan and store about billions web URLs every week, and since 1996 have created a large collection of over 325 Billion complete web pages. We make these available through the Wayback machinebut there is much more that we do. Come learn about what the Internet Archive is doing to store digital content of all types: audio, movies, software, VR content, radio, and television. This talk will be wide-ranging, touching on what we do (and why), how our content is used, the technologies we use to capture and keep over 40 Petabytes of content, and of course, a tour ot a small sampling of the fun and quirky content to be found in our collections. -jcg John GonzalezDirector, Engineering and Service Availabilityjcg at archive.org On Mar 25, 2018, at 10:26 AM, B. When you replied, your not being subscribed to that list caused your reply to be bounced and the ListServe coordinator sent Barbara and me a message not to have non members try to use the list address shown. I hadn't thought about any reply from you going to the List. I'll be more careful to edit it out of messages I send you, and give you the Email address of the person who asked a question. However, if you really want or need to reach the whole Presentations Committee, you can address a message to present at ggcs.org Sorry about that mix up and hope the bounce message wasn't confusing.
